I have just finished reading both We Need To Talk About Kevin and Spanish Steps (aka Travels With My Donkey). Each enlightening in its own way.

A mother desperately tries to come to terms with the actions of her murderous son; a man desperately tries to drag a belligerent donkey on a medieval pilgrimage.

I felt they complimented each other nicely. Five stars.
